Distribution

Trust And Transparency

At Greenroad Nigeria Limited, we are committed to maintaining transparency throughout the distribution process.

We provide producers and content owners with periodic distribution and revenue reports as information becomes available from our distribution partners. Reports may include available licensing, platform, performance, and revenue information, subject to the reporting schedules and data provided by the respective platforms. Producers may also request clarification or supporting distribution information where available.

Our Distribution Network

Greenroad works with an expanding network of international digital platforms, aggregators, channels, and distribution partners.

Because platform relationships, availability, territories, and licensing arrangements may change, we do not treat any platform list as permanent. Titles are submitted to appropriate platforms based on their content requirements, audience, territories, technical specifications, and current acquisition needs.

Distribution does not guarantee acceptance, licensing, publication, or a specific revenue outcome, as final decisions are made by the respective platforms or distribution partners.

Technical & Content Requirements

To be considered for digital distribution, films should be supplied in a high-quality, viewable master format, preferably Full HD (1920 × 1080) or higher where available. The final technical requirements may vary depending on the receiving platform. Recommended delivery formats may include:

  • MOV
  • MP4
  • MPEG/MPG

Greenroad may request a different format or specification where required by a particular platform.

Quality Control (QC)

Every title submitted to Greenroad undergoes an initial Quality Control (QC) and distribution-readiness assessment before being prepared for international distribution. Our QC process may review:

  • Producer

Legal & Rights Documentation

The content owner must be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary rights and authority to distribute the film. Greenroad may request relevant agreements, licenses, copyright documentation, or other evidence of ownership and distribution rights.

Greenroad Distribution Process

Step 1 — Initial Enquiry: The producer/content owner contacts Greenroad to discuss the title and distribution requirements.

Step 2 — Submission of Screener: A private screener or preview link is submitted for our initial assessment. This allows Greenroad to review the film before the producer incurs unnecessary delivery or physical-storage costs.

Step 3 — QC & Distribution Assessment: Greenroad reviews the title for technical quality, content readiness, metadata, artwork, captions, legal documentation, and general distribution suitability. Where corrections are required, Greenroad provides the necessary feedback.

Step 4 — Asset Preparation: Once the title is approved for distribution, the producer/content owner provides the required final assets, which may include:

  • Master film
  • Trailer
  • Poster/artwork
  • Metadata
  • SRT/SDH captions
  • Cast and crew information
  • Rights documentation
  • Additional promotional materials

Step 5 — Content Packaging: Greenroad prepares and packages the title according to the requirements of the applicable distribution partners. Depending on the agreed service, this may include:

QC correction • Video correction • Audio treatment • Captioning • Metadata preparation • Artwork preparation • Trailer editing • Thumbnail preparation • Content packaging

Step 6 — Distribution & Pitching: The completed title is submitted through Greenroad’s distribution network to appropriate digital platforms and distribution partners. The title may undergo an additional QC or review process by the receiving platform.

Step 7 — Licensing & Release: If a platform or distribution partner selects the title, the applicable licensing and delivery process begins. Release timelines vary according to the platform and licensing arrangement.

Step 8 — Reporting: Once reporting information becomes available from the applicable platform or distribution partner, Greenroad provides the relevant performance and revenue information according to the applicable reporting schedule.

Film Distribution Requirements

To begin the distribution process, producers/content owners should prepare the following:

Mandatory

  • Proof of Rights / Ownership: Copyright documentation, license agreement, chain-of-title documentation, or other evidence confirming the right to distribute the film.

Recommended Marketing Materials

The following materials are strongly recommended because they can help support the international marketing and promotion of the title:

  • Additional poster variations
  • Landscape artwork
  • Film stills

  • Director photographs
  • Behind-the-scenes photographs

  • Programming decisions
  • Licensing terms
  • Territory restrictions
  • Commercial arrangements
  • Payment and reporting schedules

Greenroad’s role is to professionally prepare, package, aggregate, submit, and manage the distribution process on behalf of content owners in accordance with the applicable agreement.
